From listening to these lyrics I would expect and want to see a music video that told a story so that as well as hearing about what happened, I could also see it. After researching into all of the lyrics and finding the correct meanings, I now understand more about the song and realise in more detail as to how the artist is feeling because of his ‘baby’.
In the video I would expect to see the artist going ‘insane’ for example; in an ‘asylum’ or in a strait jacket. I would expect to see the girl that has made him that way, either see her visiting him in the asylum, or a flashback to the memories they shared. Another thing I would expect to see is how she has made him like that; what she did, whether she left him, cheated on him etc. –the actions she did to make him be so miserable and ‘need treatment’.
I would want the music video to be a narrative music video rather than performance because you could tell a great and gripping story that grabs the audience’s attention as well as having close ups to see the artist so the audience are able to distinguish the performer and know who sings the song.
The lyrics also help get an idea as to what the lighting in the video will be like and also on the image for the front cover. This is because when listening to the lyrics and knowing what they mean it sounds like the artist would be in quite a dark place. I will therefore take this into account when taking the photo for the album front cover; which will be in dim/dark lighting so the cover relates to the song and lyrics as well as the music video.
